워터펌프, A/C 컴프레서, 알터네이터, 파워펌프 등을 구동하기 위해서 사용된다. 차량별로 파워펌프는 전자식인 경우가 많다. 그리고 하이브리드의 경우 대부분 다 전기로 작동되기때문에 기계적으로 벨트를 이용해서 돌려줄 필요가 없는것이다.
