Q. 혼다 오딧세이에 브레이크오일 DOT5가 성능이 좋다고 하여 교환했는데 문제없을까요?

혼다자동차에 주로 사용되는 BF DOT ULTRA이다. 브레이크오일 DOT4. DOT3와 4 그리고 5.1은 호환된다. 하지만 DOT5는 3, 4, 5.1과 호환되지 않는다.

DOT5와 DOT3, 4, 5.1 과 호환성

대다수 차량은 트랙을 달리는 극히 극히 드문경우를 제외하고는 DOT5 브레이크액은 사용하면 안되요. DOT3 4, 5.1 은 호환되지만 DOT5는 절대 섞으면 아니됩니다. 운전하지 말고 완전히 플러싱하여야 합니다.

DOT5는 실리콘계열로 수분과 친하지 않고 보라색이면 주로 레이싱카에 사용해요. 3,4,5.1은 글리콜 계열로 수분친화적(흡수잘함)이고 콩기름처럼 투명하고 대부분 차량에 사용합니다.
