보통은 OBD2 포트가 운전석 대시보드 왼쪽 혹 오른쪽 아래에 있다. 가끔 조수석 대시보드 아래나 암레스트 부분에 있는 경우도 있다. 오래된 차량의 경우 엔진룸에 있는경우도 있다. 그리고 OBD1 포트가 있어서, 아답터를 사용해야 하는경우도 있다.
